Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has announced the release of its SDH/PDH transmission analyzer which can be used for pulse mask analysis, overhead analysis, point analysis and anomaly/defect analysis as well as bit error rate (BER) testing. The analyzer is widely used in R&D, manufacture, acceptance testing, performance monitoring, maintenance and measurement of SDH/PDH networks and devices.

This SDH/PDH transmission analyzer, model A0020005, features flexible software-definition and simulated LEDs for current and historical error indication. It has various functions including automatic tributary scanning, automatic protection switching (APS), round trip delay measurement, TCM serial monitoring, timing and synchronization testing and real-time optical power testing. Its performance analysis conforms to G.821, G.826, G.828, G.829, ZM.2100 and M.2101 international standards.

This advanced and handheld SDH/PDH transmission analyzer performs on-line and off-line tests of T1, E1, E2, E3, E4, DS1, DS3, STM-1 (155M), STM-4 (622M) and STM-16 (2.5G). It incorporates electrical interfaces for SDH/PDH and optical interfaces for SDH/SONET while Tx and Rx are completely independent. It has a large memory capacity to record bit error and alarm events that can be displayed in charts and graphics. Test results can be saved as HTML or TXT format or uploaded to USB disk or a computer for further analysis, reporting and printing.

This transmission analyzer belongs to GAO’s family of Datacom Analyzers. Another two featured products in this line are Portable E1/Datacom Transmission Analyzer which is widely used in R&D, production, installation, verification and maintenance of SDH, PDH, PCM, DTU and Data protocol converter equipment and Data Transmission Analyzer and E1/T1 BER Tester which is designed for frame synchronization code monitoring, CRC monitoring, offline error testing, signal waveform analysis, IP PING testing, offline and online monitoring and ITU-T G.703 error analysis.
