Handheld Fiber Optic OTDR Features Unique Hot Key Design

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm is offering its handheld fiber optic OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer) which is an innovative test instrument for telecommunication networks and is specially designed for fiber network construction and maintenance in FTTx, WAN and CATV systems.

This handheld fiber optic OTDR, model C0250001, features a compact size, easy operation, highly dynamic range and precise measurement. It provides average and real time test modes. It can be used with both single mode and multi mode fiber. It provides a wavelength of 1310/1550 nm ± 20 nm for single mode fiber and 850/1300 nm ± 20 nm for multi mode fiber. The event dead zone for single mode fiber is only 3 m and 7 m for multimode fiber. The unique hot key design makes it convenient and quick to conduct tests and review and analyze test results.

This OTDR is complete with adaptors for connection to different fiber types. It is also resistant to dust, moisture and shock allowing it to perform well even in harsh environments. It has a large memory capacity to save up to 300 test curves and can transfer them to a computer via RS-232 or USB port for further analysis, reporting and printing via included software. In addition, it is powered by Ni-MH rechargeable battery or AC adapter for over 3.5 hours of continuous testing operation on a single charge.

This fiber optic OTDR belongs to GAO’s family of OTDRs.This line also includes Multi-Function Optical Time Domain Reflectometer which can be used for testing in a variety of fiber optic applications including WDM, MAN, FTTH and LAN network, GAO C0250003 fiber optic OTDR which is widely applied in the manufacture, construction and maintenance of optical fibers. High Performance Transmission Line/Antenna Analyzer

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm is offering its high performance transmission line/antenna analyzer designed for electric system installation debugging, maintenance and repair, and solving RF system problems. The analyzer is commonly used in broadcast television, CATV, GPS, GSM/PCS, microwave relay, satellite communications and radar.

This portable transmission line/antenna analyzer, model A0070003, operates over a wide frequency range of 1 MHz to 3.6 GHz. It features high speed and accurate SWR/RL (standing wave ratio/return loss), absolute power and Distance-to-Fault (DTF) measurements. It includes a built-in precise synthesized signal source, a highly sensitive receiver, a high performance CPU and a large LCD display to provide a graphical indication of SWR, or return loss (RL) over the selected frequency range.

Using frequency domain reflectometry (FDR) technology, it provides standard measurements such as VSWR, return loss, cable loss, and distance-to-fault (DTF) analysis. This compact analyzer has a large memory to store measurement data and communicates with a computer through a USB port for measurement data download/upload or print. In addition, two types of power supplies: direct current and internal battery are provided.

Compact Telecom Line Tester for Line Maintenance and Construction

This compact telecom line tester, model A0080003, incorporates the functions of a telephone set, a circuit performance tester and a security tester, which makes it a comprehensive device for detecting line errors. It performs last number dialed and caller ID display, twisted pair as well as multi-line test testing. It has an insulation test range of 0 to 40 MΩ at a maximum distance of 2 km. The compact telecom line tester is compatible with FSK and DTMF meeting the GB/T 15279-94 standard.

Handheld CATV Signal Analyzer with Auto Scan Testing Capability

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has announced the release of its portable CATV signal analyzer. This easy-to-use signal analyzer is specially designed and manufactured for CATV system installation, testing and maintenance. It tests CATV signal levels in both channel and frequency modes. In channel mode, the signal analyzer scans all channels and stores the signal levels; in frequency mode, the spectrum is displayed and the frequency range is tested.

This handheld CATV signal analyzer, model A0N00002, operates at a level frequency range of 46 to 870 MHz with a resolution bandwidth of 280 ± 50 kHz. It accurately measures CATV TILT and trunk cable voltage and provides DVB-C digital signal testing including average peak power, MER, BER, and C/N. It features high-speed measurement, auto-off time setup and auto scan testing. It provides a maximum channel scan of 100 channels at a speed of 30 channels/min and stores 23 groups with 100 channels for each group when performing auto scan testing. This CATV signal analyzer is powered by a 7.2 V/1.6 Ah rechargeable battery providing more than 4.5 hours continuous operation and has an AC power supply as well.

This handheld CATV signal analyzer belongs to GAO’s family of CATV Meters & Instruments.
