Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm is offering its Cisco Compatible 1000Base-BX SFP Bidirectional Transceivers which are used in pairs and are designed for bidirectional 1.25 Gbps data rate applications over 9/125 um single mode optical fibers. They are widely used for Gigabit Ethernet, fiber channel links, switch to switch interface, switched backplane applications, Router/Server Interface, and other optical transmission systems.
The intelligent Cisco compatible 1000Base-BX SFP bidirectional transceivers, model C015PB01, use standard simplex LC connectors for fiber cable connection and provide a long transmission distance of up to 10 km. They are compliant with SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) Specification, SFF-8472 SFP MSA Specification and IEEE 802.3z Gigabit Standard.
The optical transceivers transmit and receive signals on one fiber strand using two wavelengths (1310 nm, 1490 nm). The optical transceivers consist of two sections: the transmitter section uses 1490 nm DFB laser/1310 nm Fabry-Perot laser; the receiver section uses an integrated B type/A type detector preamplifier (IDP) mounted in an optical header and a limiting post-amplifier IC.
The transceivers require 3.3 V power source and feature lower power consumption. They have a transmit power range of -3 to -9 dBm and a receive power range of -1 to -19.5 dBm. In addition, they are equipped with the SFP 20-pin connector allowing hot plug capability.
The 1000Base-BX SFP bidirectional transceivers belong to GAO’s family of Cisco Compatible Transceivers. GAO’s pluggable transceivers offer a convenient and cost effective solution for use in data centers, metropolitan area access and ring networks, and storage area networks.
