Handheld Signal Level Analyzer

September 1st, 2011 Posted inGAO Comm News

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has announced the release of its handheld signal level analyzer for CATV engineers and technicians to facilitate installation and testing of CATV systems.

This handheld signal level analyzer, model A0N00004, operates over a frequency range of 5 to 870 MHz and provides a level range of 30 to 120 dBμV at a high accuracy of ±1.5 dBuV (indoor temperature) or ± 2.5 dBuV (-10°C to 40°C).

It tests CATV signal levels in both channel (SCAN) and frequency (SPECTRUM) modes. In “SCAN” mode, it can scan up to 125 channels at a speed of 30 channels/min and store signal levels as well as record signal levels in internal memory for later analysis. In “SPECTRUM” mode, it can display spectrums and tests within the frequency range.

The analyzer is equipped with channel plan selection, channel amending, channel sorting and channel editing functions. It can measure CATV TILT, C/N, and trunk cable voltage effectively and accurately. It also has automatic off function to save power when not in use and stores 24 groups of scanned data (up to 100 channels per group).

Additionally, it has two RF F-Type input ports and can be powered by both DC 7.2 V/1.4 Ah rechargeable battery and AC 110/60 Hz to 220 V/50 Hz (±10%) allowing for continuously operation for longer than 3.5 hours on a single charge.

This handheld signal level analyzer belongs to GAO’s family of CATV Meters & Instruments. This line also includes TDR cable fault locator which is able to automatically locate and indicate the distance to many kinds of RF cable faults such as short circuits, open circuits or high resistance points, digital signal level meters, PCM channel analyzers, CATV analyzer and QAM analyzers which are widely used for CATV signal testing and are intended for analog and digital television network construction and maintenance.
