Contactless Digital Multi-Thermometer

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has announced the release of its contactless digital multi-thermometer for temperature measurement. Using K-type miniature thermocouple connectors it takes probe readings and gives users quick and accurate temperature readings in °F or °C. This digital multi-thermometer is used to measure real-time values, REL-relative value, maximum value, minimum value and the average value in heating, ventilation, electricity, transportation and other fields.

The portable digital multi-thermometer, model 812, features automatic shutdown, low battery indication and a user-friendly front panel. It indicates temperature over the range of -200 °C to 1370 °C with a 0.1 °C resolution and sampling time is 2.5 times/s. This digital multi-function thermometer is compact with back stand in design and also features an easy- to-read LCD that displays both dual input function T1/T2 temperature and T1-T2 different temperatures. It also has a programmable HI and LO alarm function to alert if a temperature barrier has been passed.

Optical-to-Electric Ethernet Fiber Media Converter

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has launched its 10/100Mbps optical-to-electric media converter which is intended for use in switching and storing and forwarding applications. This converter has the ability to extend the transmission distance of a network from 100m over copper wire to 120km.

This adaptive fast Ethernet fiber converter, model MA830AS, features low power consumption, low heat dissipation and is capable of stable operation for a long period of time. It supports two different types of network connection media: 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX and allows the transmission of extra-long packets with a maximum length of 1552 bytes. It enables automatic crossing of twisted pair ports for the convenience of system debugging and installation. This fast Ethernet fiber converter also allows for the selection of multiple types of fiber ports such as dual-fiber multi-mode, dual-fiber single-mode and single-fiber single-mode. Furthermore, spanning tree protocol to form a redundant network is also provided.

Practical Handheld E1/Datacom Tester

Multi-purpose Portable Data Communication Tester

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has announced the release of its multi-purpose portable data communication tester, which is intended for the creation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of digital networks. It is used to carry out both framed and unframed tests on various equipment such as primary multiplexers, digital cross connects, automatic protection switches and circuits operating at speeds between 50bit/s and 2048bit/s.

This multi-purpose data communication tester, modelCE5009, supports synchronous or asynchronous data transmission and G.821, G.826 and frame analysis. It also provides an error analysis function to display histograms for errors or alarms. This portable tester integrates various interfaces including V.24, V.35, V.11, X.21, G.703 Co-dir 64kbit/s and G.703-2Mkbit/s for data exchange and has accommodations for future interfaces. The multi-purpose tester can be used for both offline tests of primary multiplexers on G.703-2M unframed interfaces and online tests on G703-2M framed interfaces. It generates and monitors PCM30, PCM30 CRC, PCM31 and PCM31 CRC frame structures on G.703-2Mbit/s. In addition, measurement results can be stored in its onboard memory.

Portable Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has announced the release of its non-destructive ultrasonic thickness gauge for performing measurements on a wide range of material including metals, plastic, ceramics, composites, epoxies, glass and other materials that conduct ultrasonic waves well. Equipped with transducer modules, the thickness gauge can be used for special applications including for coarse grain material and high temperature applications.

This thickness gauge, model 150, features two operating modes: single point and scan mode. It takes four measurement readings in single point mode, which measures thickness at one specific point and ten readings per second are taken in scan mode, which measures thickness over a length. It has a two-point calibration function, a memory capacity of up to 20 measurements and provides coupling status indicator. Its auto sleep and auto power off functions ensure a long battery life. Special purpose probes are optionally available for applications such as measuring coarse grain material and for high temperature applications.

1000Base-T to 1000Base-X Converter

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has announced the release of its 1000Base-T to 1000Base-X Converter which enables quick and cost-effective media conversion of copper (1000Base-T) to fiber optic connections (1000Base-SX/LX). It extends the connection distance between two Gigabit Ethernet devices via fiber cable transparently without performance degradation. The converter is an ideal solution for short reach multimode fibers, long reach single mode fibers and Bi-Di and CWDM applications.

This 1000Base-T to 1000Base-X converter, features low power consumption and plug-and-play capability. It performs full wire speed conversion and transparent conversion of packet types with no packet length limitation. The unit can be Din-Rail or center chassis mounted. This converter complies with IEEE802.3z and RoHS standards and is backward compatible with 10M, 100M and 10/100M equipment. Auto negotiation protocol is conducted for automatic configuration of half and full duplex mode. The data transmission rate is 2000Mbps in full-duplex mode at 1000Mbps. LED indicators provide diagnostic data such as availability of power, port activity, link status, and duplex mode.
