This easy-to-use PCM channel analyzer incorporates an analog signal generator/receiver, a selective level meter, a BER tester, a signal generator/receiver, a ring generator/identifier, a dialer, a DC loop circuit (ICT, OGT), a balanced bridge and a reflecting bridge into a single instrument. ?

The high performance PCM channel analyzer, model 2038, features touch-panel operation, key-stroke operation, expanded mouse operation, flexible control modes and a convenient Windows’ style GUI. It has equal step sequence of frequency spots or customized spots where the number of spots is selectable. This advanced analyzer compares the measured results against built-in ITU-T standard tolerance masks and evaluates whether the results are passed or failed. Test results can be uploaded to a PC where they can be viewed, analyzed, assembled, filed and printed via included Test Manager Pro software. The embedded software can be upgraded online. Through USB or Ethernet interface, users can develop and design voice channel measurement/control systems under various conditions remotely.

Fiber Optic Fusion Splicer with Rich Features

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has rolled out its innovative fiber optic fusion splicer featuring auto-check of fiber end-face, auto-calculation of the splicing loss, auto-selection of a suitable fusion program and simultaneous X and Y views. This splicer is an ideal solution for single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) fiber optic applications. It is also suited for splicing dispersion shifted, non-zero dispersion shifted, and erbium doped fibers.

This fiber optic fusion splicer, model 1202, boasts a large memory and is able to store 5,000 groups of splice results. The splicer has 5 pre-set settings and 5 user-definable settings for each of SM and MM. It displays the current time and date as well as the current operating mode. The average splicing loss is 0.01dB in multi-mode and 0.02dB in single mode; the typical splicing time is ten seconds; the typical heating time is 60s. It automatically adjusts to environmental conditions using built-in temperature, humidity and pressure sensors which provide constant feedback signals to control the fusion arc temperature.

Portable QAM Signal Tester Using DSP and RF Technologies
