Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm has released its 3Com compatible 1000Base-SX SFP transceiver fully compatible with original 3Com transceivers. This transceiver can be deployed in Gigabit Ethernet Links at 1.25 Gbps, Fiber Channel at 1.06 Gbps, Metro/Access Networks as well as other optical links.
The hot pluggable 3Com compatible 1000Base-SX SFP transceiver, model C011P101, features a hot-pluggable SFP footprint, 550 m transmission distance, lower power dissipation and RoHS compliance. It consists of two sections: the receiver section uses an integrated GaAs detector preamplifier (IDP) mounted in an optical header, and the transmitter uses an 850 nm VCSEL laser. It provides standard AC coupled CML for high speed signal and LVTTL control and monitoring of signals. In addition, the transceiver is compliant with SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) Specification and SFF-8472.
This 3Com compatible 1000Base-SX SFP transceiver belongs to GAO’s family of 3Com Compatible Optical Transceivers. Other featured products in this line include 3Com Compatible 1000Base-SX GBIC Optical Transceiver compliant with GBIC interface converters specifications Rev. 5.5 as well as Gigabit Ethernet standard as specified in IEEE 802.3; 3Com Compatible 1000Base-ZX SFP Transceiver which is designed for single-mode fiber (SMF) and operates at a nominal wavelength of 1550 nm; and 3Com Compatible 10GBASE-SR XENPAK Transceiver which integrates an 850 nm wavelength optical transmitter and receiver, XAUI interface, Mux and Demux with clock and data recovery (CDR).
